Participant face videos

We record videos from participants’ webcams to analyze their emotions and visual attention. We use an incredibly efficient proprietary technology to upload these videos in realtime while participants are viewing Stims. These videos are processed automatically by our computers as soon as possible after recording. Unless there is a problem, it is very rare for anyone – including our engineers – to view a video.

By default videos are stored in the European Union under EU laws. By arrangement we can capture and store data in the US instead.

Our policies on data retention and deletion depend on the requirements imposed by our clients – users of Stim Engine. For example, medical market research data often has to be stored for several years.

We do not install or deploy any software on participants’ computers and we cannot access webcams or track participants after they have completed Stim Engine sessions.
